Work conducted

Surveys for otter activity and holts (under licence), river surveys, assessment of habitat suitability, design of mitigation and habitat enhancement, monitoring.

The following works have recently been carried out:

• Survey and design of otter-proof fencing for a proposed coarse fishing lake on the Somerset Levels.

• Otter holt surveys and mitigation for an industrial site near Bridgwater, Somerset.

• Designing otter mitigation measures and writing a management plan for a river running through a new residential area near Taunton, including supervising the installation of an artificial otter holt.

• Otter survey and mitigation for 15 sections of disused railway in Devon.

• Survey of a stretch of the River Tone by boat in relation to flood improvement works.
